FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded Thursday afternoon to a house fire on the city’s northeast side. The FWFD says that a fire broke out in the living room of a home in the 6200 block of Millhollow Lane, near Maplecrest. Crews were called around 3 p.m. and were able to extinguish the flames pretty quickly.
Two children who were inside the home at the time evacuated. However, firefighters rescued two dogs found in the garage. No one was injured.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation.

FWFD responded to a working house fire. The first units on the scene extinguished the fire and did a search of the structure. Two dogs were found and removed from the garage and were unharmed. There were two juveniles in the house that self evacuated prior to the FD’s arrival. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
FWPD, TRAA, NCE, NIPSCO, and AEP assisted at the scene.
