FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department says that no one was hurt when a fire broke out at a home on Alexander Street on the city’s southeast side.
Crews were called out around 12:15 p.m. on Saturday and found “light smoke conditions” outside the home. Upon enetering they found fire in the first-floor living room area.
It took the fire department 15 minutes to get the fire under control.
The home was “vacant and uninhabited” at the time.
It was determined by investigators that the cause of the fire was electrical. No further information was given.

Fort Wayne firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 3421 Alexander St. First arriving unit found light smoke conditions showing. Upon further investigation they found fire in the first floor living room area. Additional units arrived to assist. It took approximately 15 minutes to get the fire under control. The house was vacant and uninhabited at the time of the fire. Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature. No injuries were reported to either people or pets. Fort Wayne firefighters were assisted by FWPD, AEP, NIPSCO, NCE, TRAA, and Water Department.
