FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Crews with the Fort Wayne Fire Department (FWFD) were able to get control of a large house fire in less than a half hour on Tuesday on the city’s northeast side.
The FWFD says crews arrived at the home on the 5600 block of Graber Drive, off Rothman Road, around 3:30 p.m.
One person was able to get out of the home. The FWFD says there were four animals inside but only two were found safe in the home.
No injuries were reported. The home suffered heavy fire damage and moderate smoke and water damage.

Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire called in to 911 Communications by multiple persons. Fire Engine 8 arrived to find a two story house with the attached garage fully involved in fire. Engine 8 immediately searched the home and began to directly suppress the fire . One resident was home at the time and self evacuated without injury. Several fire crews with multiple hose lines were required to extinguish the fire which caused significant damage to the house. There were 4 pets in the home, 2 were found safe outside. The fire is currently under investigation. Several agencies worked to manage this incident, they include: Fort Wayne Police, Fort Wayne City Code, Three Rivers Ambulance, Nipsco, AEP, Fort Wayne Allen County Combined Communications.
