FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are investigating a man’s shooting death last night. He was shot around 8:30 p.m. in the 6,000 block of Waycross Drive and died around 11:30 p.m.
The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says that residents in the area heard five gunshots. No one has yet been arrested.
The FWPD released the following:
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to male being shot in the area of 6000 Waycross Drive, at approximately 8:24pm. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid to the victim, until relieved by medics, who transported him to a local hospital in critical condition. While at the hospital, medical staff, downgraded him to life-threatening condition.
There is limited suspect information at this time. Officers and Detectives are working diligently to collect all available information regarding this shooting. Anyone with information, is asked to please call the FWPD at 427-1201, Crime Stoppers at 436-7867 use the P3 tips App.
This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
