UPDATE (July 12, 2024):
WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – Indiana Congresswoman Victoria Spartz is now charged in Virginia for allegedly carrying a gun in an airport terminal. She was found with the weapon in her suitcase while going through security on June 28.
The gun was not loaded and she was given a ticket and allowed on the flight at Dulles International Airport.
She has an arraignment hearing in Loudoun General District Court in Virginia on September 20.

WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – An Indiana congresswoman is facing a fine after a pistol was found in her carry-on at Dulles International Airport.
The unloaded handgun was found in the bag of Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz on Friday. A spokesperson released a statement saying the congresswoman accidentally left the handgun in the pocket of her suitcase.
Spartz was issued a citation and allowed to board her flight to Europe. She could be fined up to $15,000 for trying to board with the weapon in her carry-on.
