UPDATE (March 25, 2024):
After a warrant for murder was issued for the arrest of Micah Nunn, he was arrested Friday evening.
The FWPD released the following Friday night:
On March 21, 2024, at approximately 1141 hours, FWPD Officers responded to shooting investigation in the 7500 block of Southtown Xing. Upon arrival, Officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). Life-saving measures were attempted, but the male victim succumbed to his wounds and was later pronounced deceased. FWPD Homicide Detectives conducted a criminal investigation and identified Micah Nunn 20yoa as the suspect in the homicide and a Murder warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 22, 2024 at approximately 1800 hours, Micah Nunn was taken into custody without incident in the 3000 block of W. Coliseum Blvd. The FWPD Homicide Unit was assisted in the arrest by the Vice and Narcotics Unit, Aerial Support Unit, Uniform Operations Division and the Allen County Prosecutors Office. Micah Nunn is Preliminary charged with Murder and is being held at the Allen County Jail.
The Allen County Coroner has identified the victim. 23-year-old Devon Evans Herlde died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Thursday, March 21st, 2024, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a of a shooting in the 7500 block of Southtown Crossing in Fort Wayne. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as Devon Evans Herlde, 23, male, Black of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Notification has been made to the legal next of kin and an autopsy has been completed. The Cause of Death is Multiple Gunshot Wounds, and the Manner of Death is Homicide. Devon Evans Herlde is the 12th Homicide for Allen County in 2024. The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are searching for a murder suspect after a man died at a hospital following a shooting Thursday morning.
The shots were fired in the parking lot of the Southtown Crossing Walmart on the south side of the city. The suspect reportedly got out of a car, entered the victim’s car, and opened fire.
The Fort Wayne Police Department thinks that man may have been 20-year-old Micah K Nunn.
Police say he is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, police say not to approach him but to call 911, Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867, or use the free P3 app.
Micah Nunn is described as 6’2″, 240 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting at Southtown Xing Walmart parking lot today at roughly 11:40am. Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, an adult male, was in a stopped vehicle when the suspect exited another vehicle, got into the vehicle the victim was in and shot the victim. The suspect then got back into the vehicle that they initially exited and fled the area.
The victim was rendered aid at the scene until relieved by medics who transported the victim to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. A short time later, the victim was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
The Homicide unit made the scene and took over the investigation and are currently combing through surveillance video and interviewing witnesses. Crime scene officers will process the scene for evidence. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD Homicide Unit, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Coroner’s Office.
