HUNTINGTON CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The 50-year-old former business manager for Huntington County Community School Corporation is facing 20 felony charges for allegedly stealing over $450,000 from the district.
Scott Bumgardner is accused of using the school corporation’s money to buy gift cards from April 2020 to October 2021 and claimed he was giving them to contractors who were working on a new elementary.
The Indiana State Board of Accounts investigated his spending after he faced felony charges in Grant County for a similar theft at Marion Community Schools. HCCSC says they have cooperated with the investigation.
