OSSIAN, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana State Police say that an Ossian man was apprehended last week after being wanted for charges of human trafficking. Police say he was tracked down to Christian County Kentucky and taken to Wells County last Monday.
ISP did not release many details about the case but said that 23-year-old Zvian Jones was wanted for the enticement of a minor.
Indiana State Police released the following:
On Monday January 22, 2024, the Indiana State Police (ISP) Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce (ICAC-TF) executed an out of state arrest warrant and a search warrant for a residence located in the 600 block of Aviation Drive, Ossian, Indiana. The arrest and search warrant pertained to a child exploitation investigation alleged to involve Zavian Leon Jones, 23, of Ossian, and the alleged enticement of minor children via electronic means.
JONES was taken into custody without incident, then transported to the Wells County Jail on the out of state arrest warrant. He will be held pending extradition to Kentucky.
The Christian County, Kentucky arrest warrant was for the following felony charges:
Human Trafficking (Commercial Sexual Activity, Victim Under 12 (1 Count)
Use of a Minor Under 16 in a Sexual Performance (1 Count)
Procuring a Minor by Electronic Means (4 Counts)
The lead agency case originated from Hopkinsville Police Department (KY). Assisting the ICAC-Taskforce was the Wells County Prosecutor’s Office, Ossian Police Department, US Department of Homeland Security Investigations, US Customs and Border Patrol/Protection, and the Fort Wayne Police Department.
