DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Three people were hurt in a crash on Wednesday in DeKalb County. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says that a vehicle malfunction caused the crash just south of Butler.
Police say that just after 6 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of SR 101 at the intersection of SR 8.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 45-year-old Robert Mills was on State Road 101 when his Silverado’s accelerator malfunctioned, causing it to enter the intersection. Police said Mills “attempted to utilize his brake but was unsuccessful.”
When the Silverado entered the intersection, a Chevrolet Uplander driven by 71-year-old Glen Cook crashed into Mills’ vehicle.
Mill’s vehicle came to rest approximately 100 yards north of SR 8 on SR 1 facing north on the west side of the roadway.
Cook’s vehicle came to rest on the northeast side of the intersection facing eastbound.
Mills, Cook, and a passenger in the Uplander, Crystal Cook, were taken to the hospital. Their current conditions are unknown.
