FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – For the first time, Fort Wayne Community Schools is offering a two-week orientation for all teachers new to the district.
The 10 days of learning kick off at 8 a.m. July 17 at the Parkview Mirro Center, 10622 Parkview Plaza Drive.
FWCS representatives say that previously, new teacher orientation was only two days, which left some teachers feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information they received in a short period of time.
FWCS released the following:
During the orientation, more than 150 new FWCS teachers will build an understanding of district resources and the priorities of literacy, numeracy and well-being. They will also work to build a collaborative culture with their peers and the departments supporting the schools.
The extended orientation will help the teachers new to the district feel confident about the start of the school year.
