George Thorogood & The Destroyers are celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary with several events. On November 30, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles will present an intimate conversation followed by a performance.
The following day, exactly 50 years since they played their first-ever show, they’ll perform together again in LA for a radio station promotion.
George Thorogood commented and said: “I’ll admit to a warm feeling of satisfaction, maybe a bit of pride, and definitely a whole lot of gratitude. But, I must admit, fifty years doesn’t feel like a long time when you love what you do. Every show we play can still feel like the biggest night of our lives.”
Thorogood and his band played their first show ever on December 1, 1973 at The University of Delaware’s Lane Hall.
