UPDATE (November 7, 2023):
Two people are charged in a shooting last week on Swinney Avenue. The FWPD said on Monday that the two underage suspects are facing armed robbery and attempted murder charges in connection to the shooting last Thursday.
Both suspects were taken to the Allen County Juvenile Justice Center.

On 11/06/2023 the Fort Wayne Police Department apprehended two subjects wanted in connection to the shooting investigation in the 1400 block of Swinney Avenue on 11/02/2023. Two 17yo juvenile suspects were taken into custody seperartely without incident and charged with Armed Robbery and Attempted Murder. Both were transported to the Allen County Juvenile Justice Center. The Homicide Unit was assisted in the arrest(s) by the Gang and Violent Crime Unit and the Aerial Support Unit.
ORIGINAL STORY:
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Two people are hospitalized after they were shot just southwest of downtown Fort Wayne Thursday. One victim called the police to tell them of the incident and that they were headed to a hospital around 5:40 p.m.
An adult male has life-threatening injuries. A minor has less serious injuries.
One juvenile suspect has been arrested and Fort Wayne police say two other people are cooperating.
The FWPD released the following:
On Thursday November 2nd 2023 at approximately 1740 hrs officers were dispatched to the area of 1300 Swinney Ave regarding shots fire. Several calls were received regarding multiple shots being fired. While in route dispatchers received a call from an individual stating he and another male had been shot and were already in route to a local hospital. Officers arrived at the hospital to find an adult male in life threatening condition and a juvenile male in stable condition.
One Juvenile suspect has been detained and 2 other persons of interest have been identified and are cooperating with the investigation.
