FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that it is investigating a shooting Wednesday night on Newport Drive, close to Clinton and Parnell.
The FWPD said they are looking into a vehicle with bullet holes that may have been involved.
Police didn’t give many other details but did say that the victim, an adult male, is expected to recover. They are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred October 26th, 2023 (Wednesday) at roughly 10:40 PM in the area of 3800 Newport Ave. FWPD officers responded to the shooting call and located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid to the victim until relieved by TRAA and the FWFD. The victim was transported to a local hospital in non life-threatening condition.
A vehicle, that may be involved, was located nearby with bullet holes. The vehicle was towed to be processed for further evidence. Investigators spoke with multiple witnesses and continue to investigate every lead. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
