FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department is investigating what caused a house fire on the city’s northeast side.
Crews were called to the 3000 block of Upper St. Joe Center Road just before 9 p.m. on Sunday after neighbors reported seeing the fire. Flames were found in the front living area, according to the FWFD.
Nobody was in the house at the time of the fire. The Fort Wayne Fire Department said the home was vacant or abandoned.
Crews had the fire under control within 11 minutes. The house suffered moderate fire and water damage as well as heavy smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
