GRANT CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in Grant County say that a motorcyclist was killed in a crash Tuesday in Marion.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department (GCSO), it happened in the 3300 block of Central Avenue just after 10 p.m.
Deputies arrived to find a man deceased who appeared to have been driving a Harley-Davidson and a woman who was reported to be behind the wheel of a Dodge minivan.
Police didn’t say if they suspected alcohol or drugs but did say that the woman consented to a blood draw which is a requirement for fatal accidents.
Police say they continue to investigate. the name of the motorcyclist has not been released.

Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies received a radio dispatch of a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash in the 3300 block of Central Ave. Marion, IN. Upon arrival deputies located a deceased male who appeared to be the operator of a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and a female driver of a Dodge Caravan. The Grant County Sheriff’s Fatality Accident Team was requested, and they responded to conduct the investigation. A legal blood draw was conducted by consent of the female driver which is required in all fatal accidents.
This is an active investigation, and all information will be forwarded to the Grant County Prosecutor Office for review. The deceased victim’s name is being withheld out of consideration to the family.
