FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department (FWFD) says a mobile home suffered heavy damage in a fire Wednesday on the city’s southeast side.
Crews were called to the 4800 block of Trace Drive off Wayne Trace just before 7:30 p.m.
Firefighters were reportedly hampered by the lack of a hydrant water supply in the neighborhood and had to shuttle water to the scene.
According to the FWFD, crews arrived at the scene to find fire coming from the rear of the structure and underneath. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
No one was inside at the time and no injuries were reported.

Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a mobile home on fire at address stated. Fire crews arrived on scene and found fire on Bravo/ Charlie sides (rear of structure) and fire underneath mobile home. Fire crews pulled attack hose lines for extinguishment. Fire crews also search mobile home and found it vacant. Fire crews extinguished fire and incident was placed under control in about 30 minutes. Fire crews were hampered by lack of hydrant water supply in neighborhood and had shuttle water into neighborhood. Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by AEP, NCE, FWPD, TRAA Medics, and Nipsco. Fort Wayne Investigators made the scene and fire cause, and origin are under investigation.
