INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The sheriff in Indianapolis is blaming the state for the number of sex offenders in the city.
Sheriff Kerry Forestal yesterday said about half of the 1,800 sex offenders living in and around Indianapolis are from outside of Marion County.
Forestal said state benefits entice sex offenders to town, and then they stay. His office conducted a sweep yesterday, looking for at least five wanted sex offenders. Deputies made one arrest.
