INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Homeowners across Indiana are seeing what skyrocketing home prices are doing to their property taxes.
Property tax bills are arriving, and they’re much higher (they are due for those in Allen County, Indiana).
Hamilton County’s Assessor says home values there jumped an average of 13 percent.
In Marion County, the average increase was closer to eight percent, but some communities saw much larger increases.
Officials say the booming housing market and inflation are to blame for the steep jumps in tax bills.
