INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Governor Holcomb could call a special legislative session if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade.
He says a session focused on abortion legislation is “on the table”.
Over 100 Republican legislators sent Holcomb a letter earlier this year asking for a special session should the country’s highest court reverse the landmark 1973 decision.
Holcomb has not said what he wants Indiana’s laws to look like should Roe be overturned.

ORIGINAL STORY:
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The top Republicans at the Indiana Capitol are standing by their request for a special session if Roe is overturned.
House Speaker Todd Huston and Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray wrote the governor back in March, asking for a special session to settle Indiana’s abortion laws if Roe goes away.
Yesterday, the two stood by that request. Huston said the “vast majority of House Republicans have made it abundantly clear that they want to protect life.”
Bray said Indiana will be in a position to “improve our record as a strong defender of life.”
Governor Holcomb has not yet said if he will call lawmakers back to the Capitol if Roe is overturned.
