UPDATE (November 21, 2022):
The Allen County Coroner has identified the two people killed in a crash on US 24 in New Haven last week.
The coroner says that Sharon and Charles Dugan were killed when a semi rear-ended their vehicle. Both of their deaths have been ruled accidental.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Thursday, November 17th, 2022, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a semi-tractor trailer versus motor vehicle crash in the east bound lane at mile marker number 153 of US 24 E, in New Haven. First responders advised the vehicle left the roadway after being rear ended by a semi-tractor trailer. The front passenger and rear passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
The rear passenger deceased has been identified as Sharon A. Dugan, female, white 84 years of age of Paulding Ohio. The front passenger deceased has been identified as Charles H. Dugan, male, white 87 years of age of Paulding Ohio.
Notification has been made to the next of kin and an autopsies have been completed. The Cause of Death has been determined to be Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle Versus Semi-Tractor Trailer Crash and the Manner of Death is ruled an Accident.
Sharon A. Dugan is the 43rd fatal motor vehicle crash for 2022.
Charles H. Dugan is the 44th fatal motor vehicle crash for 2022.
This incident is under investigation by the Allen County Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (ADAMS) – Two people have been killed in a crash between a semi and an SUV on US-24 near Interstate 469 in Allen County.
Deputies say the semi hit the SUV from behind as traffic was slowed for construction just before 2:30 Thursday afternoon.
Two people in the SUV died at the scene and a third person in the vehicle is hospitalized in critical condition. The semi-driver was not hurt.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On Thursday, November 17th 2022 at approximately 2:24 pm. Allen County Police Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a gray Kia and a Semi Tractor Trailer on US 24 east of I-469.
Upon arrival of officers it was determined that the east bound Kia-SUV was slowed in traffic as it was approaching road construction on US 24 when it was struck from behind by a Semi Tractor Trailer that was also east bound. Two occupants of the Kia were deceased at the scene and the 3rd occupant was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Semi was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, The Allen County Coroners Office and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
