INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The latest call to end Indiana’s state of emergency is falling on deaf ears at the state Capitol. State Rep. Curt Nisly from Milford wants lawmakers to vote on a resolution that would end Indiana’s emergency footing.
He says there’s no need for a hearing, just a vote. Indiana has been under a state of emergency since March of last year. Last month, Governor Holcomb extended the emergency through the end of this month.
Nisly says people in Indiana know what needs to be done to stay safe amid the coronavirus. Indiana’s emergency order, at this point, is more about qualifying for federal help rather than forcing restrictions on people in the state.
