FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say that a woman is in custody following an armed standoff in Waynedale on Tuesday. Officers responded to a domestic situation around 5:00 p.m. at the 2700 block of Allegany Avenue off Bluffton Road.
Police said the woman was armed but did confirm that a man was able to get out of the house.
FWPD officials say that the woman was eventually taken into custody after “less-lethal munitions” were deployed into the home and she was apprehended.

On Tuesday, 09/13/2022, at approximately 04:50 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2700 block of Allegany Avenue in regards to a disturbance with an armed adult female.
Officers arrived on scene to find that an adult male was able to exit the residence safely, but that the armed adult female had barricaded herself inside the home.
The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team, and Air Support Units were dispatched to the scene to assist.
Less-lethal munitions were deployed into the home and the female was eventually taken into custody.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
