FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Fort Wayne man has the tallest sunflower in the United States. Alex Babich set the record over the weekend when he measured his sunflower at 24-feet 10-inches.
WANE-TV reports that it is one inch taller than the old record. Babich has a knack for growing huge sunflowers, he has two on display at the Indiana State Fair. Babich says his focus now is to grow the sunflower head and seeds so he can help grow more sunflowers in the future.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Fort Wayne man is pretty sure his sunflower is the biggest in the state.
Alex Babich actually has two giant sunflowers entered at the Indiana State Fair.
One of them is 17 feet and the other is 19-and-a-half feet tall.
The next tallest sunflower at the fair measures a paltry 12 feet.
Babich actually has three more sunflowers at home that are over 20 feet, but he’s saving those for a shot at the American sunflower record, so he decided against taking them down to Indianapolis for this year’s fair.
