As Fort Wayne police continue to investigate a fatal Tuesday night motorcycle crash off St. Joe Road, the coroner has released the identity of the man killed.
The Allen County Coroner said that 34-year-old Dustin Allen Fackler died from multiple blunt force injuries and ruled his death an accident. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the coroner.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at about 20:42 hours the Allen County Coroner’s Office was contacted and advised of a fatal motor vehicle versus motorcycle crash located in the 6200 block of St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The crash occurred at about 20:30 hours and was being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
The helmeted motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene by Three Rivers Ambulance Paramedics. Notification has been made to the next of kin. The deceased has been positively identified as Dustin Allen Fackler, male white 34 years of age, from Harlan, Indiana.
The Cause of Death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle versus Motorcycle Crash and the Manner of Death is Accident.
Dustin Allen Fackler is the 22th fatal motor vehicle crash for Allen County in 2022.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Police say a motorcycle crash left a man dead Tuesday night.
It happened just before 8:30 p.m. on the city’s northeast side, in front of IFO Arch Apartments. Police responded to the 6200 block of St. Joe Road on reports of the crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
Police say the initial investigation found the motorcycle was southbound on St. Joe Road when a midsize SUV pulled out of Arch Apartments, attempting to turn north.
According to a report from the FWPD, the motorcycle was speeding and crashed into the side of the SUV. The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike on impact. Medics arrived on scene and provided medical attention, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman driving the SUV did not report any injuries.
Police say it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the incident.
FWPD officials released the following:
On June 7th, 2022 at approximately 08:27 PM officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 6200 block of St. Joe Rd; IFO Arch Apartments, in reference to a motorcycle and vehicle accident.
The motorcycle was traveling south bound on St. Joe road when a midsize SUV pulled out of Arch Apartments attempting to turn north. The motorcycle appeared to be going at a high rate of speed and collided with the rear drivers side of the SUV.
The driver of the motorcycle landed in the roadway. Medics arrived on scene and provided medical attention, however, the driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
The motorcycle driver was an adult male. The drive of the SUV was and adult female and did not sustain any injuries.
The Fort Wayne Police Department FACT (Fatal Accident Team) and ASU (Air Support Unit) was called out to the scene for a thorough investigation. Unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police.
North and South bound traffic on St. Joe Rd was closed between Shoaf Park and Shoaf Park River Rd.
