FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police say a woman is in critical condition after a hit and run Saturday night.
It happened around 10:21 p.m. Officers with the FWPD responded to a reported crash with injuries at the intersection of Spy Run Avenue and Wagner Street.
Once officers arrived, they discovered an adult female lying in the middle of the road. Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses said a dark-colored SUV hit the woman and drove off. Officers located the SUV close to the crash site but the driver was nowhere to be found.
Police are asking for help now from the public in finding whoever was behind the wheel.

On Saturday, 05/07/2022, at approximately 10:21 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Spy Run Avenue and Wagner Street reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Witnesses reported a dark colored SUV struck a pedestrian and fled the scene northbound on Spy Run Avenue.
Officers located the adult/feamle victim lying in the middle of the roadway. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers canvassed the area and located the SUV a short distance from the crash scene. The driver of the SUV has not been located.
Investigators are asking anyone that witnessed this crash to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department or use the free “P3 Tips” app.
Spy Run Avenue is closed to all traffic between Main Street and Fourth Street while investigators process the scene. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
