DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says that icy road conditions were to blame for a crash on Sunday.
Police say a man from Garrett had head and neck injuries following the crash which caused his truck to flip over on State Road 8.
According to a report Ralph Rowe, 57, of Garrett was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger with one passenger just after 7:15 a.m.
The investigation found the 0030 block of State Road 8 was icy, and the truck slid when coming over a hillcrest, rolling one time before stopping. The passenger, who was not hurt, was able to find their phone and call 911.
Rowe was taken to the hospital for head and neck injuries. The truck was reported to be totaled.
