FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Downtown Improvement District is encouraging everyone to “Shop Small Every Saturday” during The Days of Holly Shopping in downtown Fort Wayne.
The Days of Holly Shopping seeks to support our friends and neighbors in the dining and retail sectors throughout the holiday season. This event runs every Saturday through December 18.
And now, you can maximize support for our community businesses by visiting their brick and mortar in person or online from the comfort of your home. Participating locations will offer discounted retail and dining specials to celebrate the holiday season.
The Downtown Improvement District released the following:
Enhance your shopping experience with plenty of festive entertainment, performances, and special guest appearances scheduled throughout Downtown Fort Wayne from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. every Saturday.
Scheduled for Saturday, December 4, in Downtown Fort Wayne:
The Grinch will be touring the district from the back of a trolley from 11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Hops Harvester Fort Wayne will provide free tractor rides from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., with five locations for pickup and drop-off, connecting shoppers to retail businesses throughout the area.
Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff will make special guest appearances from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. to engage shoppers from the back of a trolley.
Shawnee Middle School Sound Explosion will provide holiday caroling entertainment throughout the district from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Trolley rides will not be available to the public this year.
New this year is the Holiday Passport which will list all participating restaurant and retail businesses. Shoppers may print off their Holiday Passport and bring it to any participating location to receive a holiday stamp. Once an individual has received eight stamps and submits their passport, they are entered into a drawing to receive a Downtown overnight package valued at $500.
The Snowman Scavenger Hunt returns this year for another fun-filled, family adventure! Each week, several snowmen will be hidden throughout the district. Those who find and retrieve a hidden snowman and bring it back to the location listed on the snowman may redeem a local gift card valued at $50-100.
