FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A lockout by the Northern Indiana Public Service Company against United Steelworkers employees is now in place.
WANE-TV reports that the lockout follows the contract’s expiration on Tuesday. NIPSCO released a statement Thursday saying the lockout will continue “until the Union agrees to the Company’s last, best and final offer and a new agreement is reached.”
The USW says over 1,600 employees are impacted by the lockout and says they are open to resuming contract talks if the lockout is lifted.
