FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that a boy was critically injured in a shooting Saturday night.
Officers were called around 8:30 p.m. to the 7500 block of Tanbark Lane, close to Maplecrest Road. The FWPD says that officers found a boy lying in the road. He was quickly taken to the hospital in ‘life-threatening condition’.
No further details were released. The shooting remains under investigation.
The FWPD released the following Saturday night:
On February 21, 2026, at approximately 8:25 PM, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 7500 block of Tanbark Lane regarding a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male near the roadway suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately provided medical aid at the scene before the victim was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. He remains in life-threatening condition.
FWPD detectives are currently on the scene searching for any witnesses, video surveillance, or other evidence. Additional details will be released as they become available.
