FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Several local outlets are reporting on the release of a Fort Wayne man who is back home after spending five months in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Paramjit Singh has a green card and came to the U.S. from India in 1994. He was convicted in 1999 of theft for not paying to use a pay phone, but the charge was not severe enough to cancel his green card. Singh was arrested at Chicago O’Hare International Airport last year when he was returning from a trip to India.
