COLUMBUS, Ohio (ADAMS) – A recent poll commissioned by the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is showing widespread support for childhood vaccines among the state’s voters. Political researchers at Bowling Green State University asked 800 registered Ohio voters over a dozen questions related to pediatric immunizations and their safety and effectiveness.
The results show over 85 percent of respondents said they believe routine vaccines are safe, and about 75 percent said parents should be required to have their children vaccinated.
The results show less support for the COVID-19 shot; however, only 43 percent of participants said they feel confident or very confident in the safety of that vaccine.
