FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana State Police (ISP) with the Fort Wayne Post say that a wanted man is in custody after a chase Friday night.
It started on Thomas Road on the city’s southwest side around 9:30.
When police attempted to stop a Honda Accord driven by Izaiah Elward. Officers chased him through the western part of Allen County before deploying what is known as the PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle.
ISP released the following:
On Friday, October 24th, just before 9:30pm Troopers with the Indiana State Police attempted a traffic stop on a 2010 Honda Accord in the area of Illinois Road and Thomas Road in Fort Wayne. The vehicle fled northbound on Thomas Road, leading Troopers and assisting agencies on a short pursuit through the western part of Allen County, passing through multiple housing developments before the pursuit was ended when Troopers utilized a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT). No injuries were sustained as a result of this incident.
The driver, Izaiah Elward (20) of Fort Wayne was arrested without incident and transported to the Allen County Jail. It was also discovered that Mr. Elward had two outstanding warrants from both Allen and Huntington Counties.

Resisting Law Enforcement/Fleeing Vehicle
Reckless Driving
Allen County Warrant
Huntington County Warrant
The Indiana State Police were assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
