WELLS CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces traffic pattern changes to the intersection of US 224 and CR 300 W. between Markle and Uniondale.
After a traffic engineering study, the decision was made to convert the intersection from a two-way stop into an all-way stop-controlled intersection. Updates include stop-ahead signs, oversized stop signs, buzz strips, stop bars, and temporary message signs to alert traffic of the changes.
The goal of the update is to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes.
The intersection changes are scheduled to take place on or after Monday, October 27.
INDOT encourages drivers to use caution in the area while work is done to implement the changes. Drivers should also use caution after the changes are made as motorists work to adjust to the new traffic pattern.
