INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A new report from the Afterschool Alliance finds that five in six Indiana parents can’t find an after-school program for their kids.
The report finds the main reasons are cost, a lack of available options, and transportation.
The Afterschool Alliance’s “America After 3PM” survey was released this week and found just under 84,000 Hoosier children are in after-school programs compared to nearly half a million whose parents want them enrolled.
Indiana Afterschool Alliance CEO Lakshmi Hasanadka says the programs keep kids safe, help them learn, and support working families.
