INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana state Senator Liz Brown is responding to Attorney General Todd Rokita calling out the committee she chairs for not holding a hearing on House Bill 1531, known as the “Fairness Act.” Brown says she has concerns about the constitutionality of the bill, along with feedback about how it would be enforced by police in the state.
White House “Border Czar” Tom Homan visited with lawmakers at the Indiana Statehouse on Tuesday to try to increase support in the Senate for passing the bill.
The bill deals with immigration enforcement and allows for employers who knowingly hire undocumented immigrants to be punished.
