INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The White House’s “border czar,” Tom Homan, spoke at a “Fairness for Hoosiers” event at the Indiana Statehouse on Tuesday.
Homan urged state lawmakers to pass a bill they killed earlier this year that would require all levels of state government to comply with federal detainer requests.
The Indiana Senate killed the bill after it passed the House, as it was placed before the Senate Judiciary Committee and did not get a hearing.
Attorney General Todd Rokita called out the committee chairwoman, Republican Senator Liz Brown of Fort Wayne, for setting the state “back at least a full year” and added they “can’t afford further delays.”
