FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that a man is now in custody for a weekend shooting that left another man with critical injuries. Officers were called to the intersection of Oxford and Hanna just after 3 a.m. on Saturday. They found an unconscious man on the sidewalk who was quickly rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Not long after, homicide detectives were able to identify a suspect in the shooting. 21-year-old Markevius Click was arrested just after 8 a.m. and is now facing several charges.
The current condition of the victim is not known.
Initially, police put out the following:
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of unconscious person on the sidewalk near the intersection of Hanna St. & Oxford Ave. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 3:15 am. Officers located an adult male with trauma to his body just south of the intersection. Officers provided medical aid, including CPR, to the male until medics arrived. The male was transported to a local hospital where doctors determined the trauma the result of gunfire. Doctors advised the male’s condition was life-threatening. Detectives are searching the area for witnesses, evidence, and camera footage.

By Saturday night, an arrest had been made. The FWPD released the following:
On October 4, 2025, at approximately 0311 hours, Fort Wayne Police Officers responded to an unconscious male on the sidewalk in the area of Oxford St and S. Hanna St. FWPD Officers arrived and located a 21-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were immediately initiated, and medics transported the male victim to an area trauma hospital in life-threatening condition.
FWPD Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and conducted a criminal investigation. Homicide Detectives identified Markevius Click 21yo as a suspect of the shooting, and at approximately 0810 hours, the FWPD Homicide Task Force took Click into custody without incident in the 3000 block of Warsaw St. Click is currently confined at the Allen County Jail and is preliminarily charged with Attempted Murder – Firearm Enhancement and Aggravated Battery.
