INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Governor Mike Braun says Indiana won’t have a huge impact from the federal government shutdown. Braun says the state “isn’t as dependent on the federal government,” and “we will get through it.”
While he says Indiana isn’t reliant on federal funding, analysis from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities says Indiana is the third-most reliant state on the federal government, getting 44 percent of the state budget from Washington. Only Louisiana and Mississippi are more reliant on federal funding.
