HENRY CO., Ohio (ADAMS) – The Campbell Soup Supply Co. is admitting to releasing illegal discharges into the Maumee River.
In a Monday court filing, the company says it committed at least 5,400 violations of the Clean Water Act at its canning plant in Napoleon between April of 2018 and December of last year.

Waste containing phosphorus, oil, grease, and other pollutants was released into the river. A federal trial will now be held to determine penalties for the company.
