ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – A pickup truck driver died in a crash just south of Fort Wayne on Monday afternoon.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office says the truck and an SUV collided at the intersection of East Ferguson and Muldoon roads around 3 p.m. near US 127 and I-469. The truck rolled several times, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the SUV is hospitalized in serious condition, and no names have been released.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On Monday September 8, 2025, at approximately 3:00pm, officers with the Allen County Sheriffs Department were dispatched to the intersection of E. Ferguson Rd and Muldoon Rd in reference to a reported crash with injuries. Officers arrived on the scene on located a pickup truck that was off the roadway in the ditch and a SUV in the intersection. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on E. Ferguson Rd at the time of the crash. Preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck left the roadway onto the shoulder, over corrected and came back into the eastbound lanes. The pickup truck then struck the SUV and went off the roadway, rolling several times. The driver of the pick-up truck was pronounced deceased at the scene after life saving measures were unsuccessful. The driver was the only occupant of the pick-up truck. There was a passenger in the SUV that was transported to an area hospital in serious condition. This crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. The identify of the deceased with be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office at a later date.
