ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says three people were seriously hurt in a crash Monday on I-69. It happened just after 2 p.m., around the 293 marker, when an SUV ran into a slowing semi after it was rear-ended.
Police are still investigating.

On August 4, 2025, at approximately 2:09 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of I-69 southbound near the 293.8 mile marker, regarding a reported crash involving multiple vehicles.
Upon arrival, officers and medics located one semi tractor-trailer and two SUVs involved in the crash. Three people were located with injuries. A preliminary investigation indicated that the semi was in the passing lane and traffic had began to slowdown on the highway. A white SUV behind the semi was struck by a black SUV, pushing it into the back of the semi.
The driver of the semi was not injured. The adult female driver of the white SUV was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. A juvenile passenger in the white SUV was also transported to a local hospital in serious condition. The adult male driver of the black SUV was transported to a local hospital in serious condition as well.
This incident remains under investigation.
