UPDATE (August 3, 2025):
The Fort Wayne Police Department issued an update on Friday about a disturbing case.
The FWPD said two more men were arrested in connection with a dog-fighting ring.
The following update was released:
On Friday, 1 August 2025, members of the Fort Wayne Police, Vice and Narcotics Division arrested Newton Arnold at 5002 Buell Dr. and Trevel Bell at 835 E. Berry St. on multiple charges relating to dog fighting and animal abuse, stemming from search warrants that were served on Tuesday, 29 August 2025, at both the above-mentioned locations.
After all the evidence was collected and the dogs examined, the following charges were issued:

ORIGINAL STORY:
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – One man is in police custody, and 22 dogs and puppies have been rescued from an alleged dog-fighting operation in Fort Wayne.
Police carried out search warrants Tuesday afternoon at three homes and found the dogs in filthy cages.
The dogs had no access to water. Police arrested Trevel Bell, and he will be charged with two counts of purchase or possession of an animal for fighting.

Time: Approx. 14:00 hrs. Details/Summary: On this date beginning at approx. 14:00 hrs. the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division, along with the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit and Emergency Service Team, served 3 (three) search warrants at the above-listed locations. This was in relation to a nearly six-month investigation into alleged dog fighting activity. As a result of this investigation 22 dogs were seized, as well as numerous items related to dog fighting/training.
