FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Humane Fort Wayne says that in response to overwhelming community interest and demand, it is making changes to its Wellness Clinic services.
Effective Friday, August 1, 2025, Humane Fort Wayne’s Wellness Clinic will move back to its former home at 1333 Maycrest Drive. The location change will allow Humane Fort Wayne to accommodate more clients by offering additional space and expanded operating hours.
Humane FW released the following:
The Wellness Clinic will operate six days a week on a fully walk-in basis (Monday – Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 12pm) offering basic care such as vaccines and flea/tick prevention.
And, with the Walk-In Wellness Clinic move comes the addition of a new initiative by Humane Fort Wayne, called Clinic Plus. Clinic Plus will provide pet owners with veterinary care beyond the basics, offering services like skin, ear and allergy treatment, low-cost euthanasia, and more.
Clinic Plus will operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 6pm by appointment only at Humane Fort Wayne’s Sharon Bodenhafer Critter Center, located at 901 Leesburg Road.
“We’re always listening to our community and working to find better ways to meet the needs of pets and their people,” says Jessica Henry-Johnson, Executive Director. “This change will make visits to our Walk-In Wellness Clinic much more comfortable for our clients, and it frees up the space at our Leesburg Road location to provide additional veterinary care that our community desperately needs.”
Humane Fort Wayne’s Wellness Clinic sees in excess of 12,000 patients each year, and the expansion to Humane Fort Wayne’s Clinic services is made possible in part by a PetSmart Charities Accelerator Grant, a multi-year award designed to help increase access to affordable veterinary care.
