FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Much of northeast Indiana, including Allen County, is under a Heat Advisory today. The heat advisory takes effect on Monday at 1 p.m.and lasts through 9 p.m.
The National Weather Service predicts heat index values of up to 100 due to hot temperatures and high humidity.
You’re encouraged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, avoid the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
