The live-action/animated hybrid film Coyote vs. Acme has secured a global theatrical release date of August 28, 2026, announced star Will Forte at San Diego Comic-Con. The film, about Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote suing the Acme Corporation, was infamously shelved by Warner Bros. in 2023 after its completion in favor of a tax write-off (along with Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt). It was later acquired by Ketchup Entertainment in March 2025 for a reported $50 million. Commenting on the film’s journey, Forte told the SDCC crowd, “I’m pretty speechless…It blows my mind. You think back to the journey this movie has taken. I had kind of given up hope at a certain point, so this is amazing.” Comic-Con The panel featured a tongue-in-cheek appearance by an Acme Corporation representative, who attempted to disrupt the proceedings before the film’s trailer could debut.
