INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Recruitment by the Indiana National Guard is up 14 percent from last year. Officials say they have over 12,000 members as of now, and they hope recent benefit changes will result in more improvement.
Governor Braun signed legislation on Tuesday that will increase the payout cap for funeral expenses from nearly $9,000 to $20,000 and add active duty soldiers to the definition of a state employee for workers’ compensation and death benefits.
