FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting at Tillman Park just before midnight on Monday that killed one man.
Another man has life-threatening injuries and is hospitalized. Police say the shooting happened after a large gathering at the park, which closes at 11:00 p.m. every day.
They have not released any information on a suspect, but say there is no threat to the public.
The FWPD released the following:
At approximately 11:50pm on June 23rd, 2025, the Fort Wayne Police Department received a call about gunshots being fired in the area of Tillman Park. Another caller stated that there was possibly a victim of a shooting laying in the parking lot. When Officers arrived, there was a large crowd dispersing the area. Officers found 2 male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Shortly after, Medics arrived on scene and pronounced 1 male deceased and transported the other male to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
It’s currently unknown what happened prior to the shooting, and there are currently no suspects. Officers and Detectives are speaking with witnesses, as well as searching the area for any evidence. Crime Scene Technicians are also searching for and collecting any evidence.
