FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says officers arrested a 15-year-old boy on preliminary charges, including attempted murder.
He is accused of shooting a seven-year-old child on May 21 in the 4000 block of Oliver Street when the child was inside the home and the shots came from outside. He was arrested yesterday and taken to the Allen County Juvenile Center, while the seven-year-old is in stable condition.
The FWPD released the following:
On 5/21/2025 at 0249 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4000 block of Oliver Street reference a shooting investigation. Upon arrival, officers located a seven-year-old child suffering from multiple gunshot wound(s). The child was inside a home at the time of the
shooting and the shots came from outside the home. The child was rendered medical attention on scene and medics transported the child to a local hospital for medical attention. The child is in stable condition at this time.
The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit was assigned to conduct the criminal investigation and has been diligently and relentlessly pursuing the case. Probable cause was eventually established to make an arrest in the case. The Homicide Task Force was initiated and the suspect was arrested without incident in the 5200 block of Eastwick Drive on 06/18/2025 at 1633 hours. The suspect was identified as a 15yo male juvenile. He was arrested for Attempted Murder, Battery w/ a Deadly Weapon and two counts of Criminal Recklessness w/ a Deadly Weapon. He was transported to the Allen County Juvenile Center. The shooting is actively under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says a child is in stable condition after they were shot inside their Oliver Street home early Wednesday morning.
Just before 3 a.m. FWPD officers were sent to the 4000 block of Oliver, close to Rudisill Boulevard, and located the child who was shot while inside the home by someone outside.
An ambulance transported the child to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
