FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a fatal overnight shooting. The FWPD says an argument erupted at a gathering on the 2600 block of Wells Street around 2 a.m.
There is currently no word on a suspect or the victim’s identity. Police did say that an alleged suspect took off on foot.

The FWPD released the following:
On Friday, May 30th, around 2:05a.m. the Fort Wayne Police Department received a 911 phone call regarding a shooting in the 2600 block of Wells Street. Officers arrived and found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medics transported the male in critical condition to a local hospital. Once at the hospital, doctors pronounced the male deceased.
Fort Wayne Police Homicide unit and Crime Scene Technicians were called to document the scene and speak with witnesses.

This homicide is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Dept., Allen County Prosecutors Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
