FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A lot of folks in Fort Wayne were out to mark Memorial Day and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
Residents in Waynedale celebrated with their annual parade.
Mayor Sharon Tucker joined Rolling Thunder after their Ride for Freedom at the Veterans National Memorial Shrine & Museum for a ceremony.
Rolling Thunder, Inc., Indiana Chapter 1 was in Fort Wayne for the third year in a row in recognition of Memorial Day. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.
At the Memorial Day event, the Chapter will unveil and dedicate a four-foot black granite POW/MIA bench at the Veterans National Memorial Shrine & Museum.

And Fort Wayne’s annual parade left the Coliseum Monday morning. The Allen County Council of Veterans Organizations puts on the parade.
The parade left the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum parking lot around 11 a.m., heading down Johnny Appleseed Park before concluding at the Coliseum’s Veterans Plaza. A ceremony was held in the Memorial Hall following the parade.
